I have always been different- from the way I dressed to the way I creatively styled my wardrobe. Fashion has always been more than clothing to me; it has been a way to express my individuality, confidence ands passion. Deep down inside, I always carried a fire to create something bold, original. and unapologetically different.

For years that fire was dimmed. while experiencing domestic violence, control, and emotional abuse, I learned to shrink myself to appease my partners. I silenced my voice, hid parts of who I was, and never felt completely free to be my true self. But eventually I found the strength to break free from the shackles of abuse and reclaim my identity. I got my voice back- and I decided I would never be afraid to use it again.

Years ago I made my first attempt at starting a clothing brand, but it didn’t succeed. Nearly ten years later, I chose to step out on faith and try again. This time i am believing in myself, embracing the risk, and refusing to let failure- or the opinions of others who doubt me- stand in the way of what has always been a burning desire inside of me.

Foreign Mami represents freedom, resilience, individuality, and the courage to take up space where there is none. It was made for the girls who express themselves through creative styling, bold pieces, and looks that refuse to blend in. It is for every woman learning to trust her voice, honor her uniqueness, and become everything she was once told she couldn’t be.
